Honor, the sister brand to Huawei has came out with its latest smartphone model called the Honor 9. The Honor 9 will be available in blue, black and amber gold colour options.
Let’s see the specifications for Honor 9 with its Huawei’s technology influences. Similar to the Huawei P10, Mate 9 and Honor 8 Pro, the Honor 9 also uses the processor Kirin 960. Besides, it is joined by a 4GB of RAM. The Honor 9 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with the Huawei’s much improved EMUI 5.1 interface. In addition, this smartphone also includes the same long term speed boosting algorithms. This feature is important in order to ensure that the smartphone’s performance can be maintained consistently over time.
The Honor 9 is said to be performing very well from accessing the apps to using the camera. Again, similar to the Honor 8, the Honor 9 has a dual lens camera on the rear of the phone while incorporating the same hardware from the Huawei P10. In other words, there is a 20-megapixel monochrome lens along with a 12-megapixel RGB lens. In the objective to avoid the unsightly camera bumps, there are lenses embed behind the glass. This decision is not only meeting its objective but also further giving the smartphone a gorgeous look and design.
Some other features of the Honor 9 that worth to mention is the 3200 mAh battery with fast charging speed, which is quite a standing out feature for this smartphone. Even though it is not better than the Huawei’s SuperCharge system or the OnePlus’s Dash Charge, it is certainly one of the fast charging device available.
One small feature that might attract Honor’ potential buyers is the position of the fingerprint reader. This is pointed out because the previous model, the Honor 8 has the fingerprint reader on the rear of the phone. The Honor 9 has this shifted to the front of the phone, which is way more convenient. The phone can be easily unlocked without the need to pick up the phone from a surface.
In a glance, the Honor 9 has a dual glass body with aluminum frame, 3D Gorilla Glass 3 back with 5.15″ LTPS IPS LCD and 1,080 x 1,920 pixel resolution (428ppi). As mentioned, it has a dual camera with 20-megapixel monochrome and 12-megapixel colour sensors length, 4-in-1 hybrid autofocus of phase, laser, contrast and depth sensing, dual-LED, dual-tone flash and 2 times hybrid zoom. The selfie camera is 8-megapixel with simulated bokeh effect. The Honor 9 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with Huawei’s EMUI 5.1 overlay with Kirin 960 chipset. Other than that, it is equipped with the Huawei Histen 3D sound.
In a glance on some of the main shortcomings for the Honor 9, which include the lack of Leica branding and filters, not dust or water resistance, no stereo speakers and no FM radio.
The Honor 9 is maintaining it premium with an all-metal frame with a 3D curved design. Price is considerably affordable for such a smartphone in its category.
