Ehailing is now required for all ehailing vehicles to operate by 12 July 2019 besides PSV & Puspakom guide. Here are the steps to apply ehailing insurance.
Private Car Insurance
There are no requirement for cars to be converted into commercial vehicle. Ehailing drivers can still use their existing private car insurance while adding an additional ehailing top up to comply with Malaysian government ehailing regulation.
Ehailing insurance covers private vehicle. There are coverage from injury, death or damage of loss of vehicle due to accident, fire or theft.

At the time of writing, some companies have different requirements for ehailing insurance requirement. Some company do not have coverage for older cars. Do check with your existing insurance company and update when required.

Can I still drive if I don’t have ehailing insurans ?
No, the final date is stated from the ministry. You should get your PSV, Puspakom and Insurance ready before 12 July 2019 to be able to drive after that. You will need to submit these documents before your ehailing company issues an ehailing permit to you.
What if my existing insurance do not have ehailing coverage?
It would be best to change to insurance companies that offers ehailing coverage. You can wait for your insurance to expire however you can only drive once you have ehailing coverage.
