The new D810 received latest sensor upgrade from Nikon. This new camera has a 36.3 mp full frame sensor with the latest Expeed 4 image and video processor that is capable of delivering ultimate performance and image quality. The new Expeed 4 processor, the same processor being used in top range Dslr such as the Nikon D4 is said to be noise resilient with a maximum ISO setting of 12800 or and extended option from ISO 32 to ISO 51200. The new processor technology is expected to have superior IQ

With Expeed 4 engine, this camera is also able to shoot videos at Full HD 1920×1080 60 fps which do not disappoints videographers.

Nikon D810 is able to reach 5 FPS at FX mode while 7 FPS at DX mode shooting raw with added battery grip. Nikon D800 comes with choices of AA filter removal at extra price however with D810, the AA filter is completely removed. It is rather awkward to pay extra for something being removed perhaps Nikon took the step of not using any AA filters at all.

This camera has also received autofocus improvement. The Nikon D810 is running on Nikon Advanced Multicam autofocus sensor with choices of 51, 21 and 9 focus points.

The Nikon D810 is magnesium alloy built and weather resistant. This is perhaps a plus point for outdoor photographers. It has a 3.2 inches TFT LCD screen that is also scratch resistant and is more visible although being viewed on broad daylight. Nikon D810 comes with SD and CD card slot.

Nikon’s camera is not a favourite choice for videographers and Nikon tries to remedy it with the new Nikon D810. This camera is able to shoot Full HD maximum 1920x 1080 at 60 FPS while it is able to record uncompress video to external device directly. The improved Nikon D810 is not susceptible to frame adjustment when moving from dark to bright area during a video shoot.

Nikon even takes a step further and bundled the D810 into Nikon Filmmaker’s kit and Animator’s kit. These kit are targeted for production house or small film maker usage. The kit comes with few lenses, filter, HDMI Recording and microphone.

Raw Size S 9 Megapixel

Nikon may have heeded call from photographers who have no option but to shoot only at 36 MP in raw format in D800. The new D810 comes with option to shoot 9MP (S) Raw format. This would great as photographers will not need to bring extra SD or CF cards to field as compared to D800.
