Great news, Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy J5 and J7 in Malaysia. Both of these phones are mid and low range smartphone. Samsung Galaxy J5 features improvements such as enhanced camera and improve hardware specifications.
The Galaxy J5 received screen improvements. It is now runs on a 5 inches 1280×720 Super Amoled screen. Samsung touted much improvements on the screen in terms of contrast and color vibrancy. In terms of hardware specs, the Galaxy J5 is now powered by a quad-core 1.2 Ghz Cortex processor with a 1.5 GB ram and a default 8GB built in storage. But seriously , the default applications that comes with this phone would probably have occupied more than 30% of the default storage. Worry not, J5 is capable of up to 128 GB of expandable micro SD card strorage. J5 comes shipped with a default Android 5.1.1 operating system. Regular Samsung users probably would not be able to find any significance changes in the Android user interface.
While it retains a 5MP front facing camera and also added a flash, the J series now has a 13MP camera with f1.9 apeture which is brilliant for low light photography. It also now supports touch focus function while the camera can now be easily accessed via double pressing the home button although you are in sleep mode. Galaxy J5 has a dual Lte sim card support. The J5 is still powered by a 2,600mAh battery. There are no surprises that you should expect of J5 for the price you are paying for a mid range phone.
Samsung is selling the J5 unit for retail price of RM 799 with the choices of grey, white and black.
