Before the official announcement of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3, it has been a long time coming since Samsung released the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 two years ago. In fact, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is still one of the best tablets out there in the market but a new model is sorely needed.
Judging from the specifications of the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 tablet, it seems that Samsung released this to directly compete with the Apple iPad Pro.
On the first glance, it looks like Samsung is implementing some subtle changes on the new design. However, if you look closer, it has some similar features to the current Samsung smartphone models. The back of the tablet is made with glass and the tablet is made with some high end materials. It is also relatively light weighing only 429g. In all, it looks and feels like a classy tablet.
Display and Sound
One of the best features in the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 is the 9.7-inches display that can display up to 2048 x 1536 QXGA resolution and powered by Samsung’s Super AMOLED proprietary technology. It is probably the only reason you will buy this Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 tablet too.
The sound quality is also pretty decent thanks to the technology from AKG, a well-known audio company. The four speakers on the tablet are loud enough but not as loud as the speakers found on the iPad Pro.
Keyboard and S Pen
Samsung currently offers some accessories for sale to make the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 into a proper 2-in-1 convertible device that allows you to watch a video on the go or writing a report or a novel. Unfortunately, the keyboard accessory is not included with the purchase of Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 tablet and you will have to buy this keyboard accessory separately. The keyboard is decent and has a good physical set of keys.
On the other hand, the S Pen comes included in the box. It’s heavier than the previous version and this makes it easier to hold. Samsung claimed that the rubberized tip offers the same feeling of sliding a pen across the paper but some reviews said that is not quite the same feeling. The S Pen is comfortable to hold and you can work quite accurately with it.
Battery and Camera
The battery included in the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is a 6000 mAh battery. While it is decent for a tablet this thin, Samsung should have added a little more thickness to the tablet and add in a 8000 mAh battery to directly compete with the iPad. Nevertheless, this battery is sufficient for around eight hours of usage or less if you are planning to use it with a keyboard.
There is a 13-megapixel sensor camera on the back of the tablet and a 5-megapixel sensor camera on the front for chatting over video. There is nothing much to shout about the cameras.\
Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Price In Malaysia
As of now, there is no official release date for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3. Several other websites reported that it is expected to arrive in the United Kingdom stores on 31st of March this year.
Based on the prices from the previous Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, the expected price for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 will start from USD 499, 399 British Sterling Pounds or 599 Australian Dollars. Based on the 3.37 exchange between the Australian Dollar and Malaysian dollar, it will cost around RM2017 in Malaysia.
Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is the latest flagship Android-based tablet from Samsung and it comes with a solid design and you get a S Pen bundled with the tablet. The disadvantages are the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is not using the latest chipset and it has a smaller battery capacity when compared to its other rivals.
