Vivo releases new XS6 & XS6 Plus
Popular Chinese phone maker Vivo unleashes it’s latest buzz which are two new smartphones known as the Vivo X6S and a bigger rendition of it called X6S Plus. The predecessors of these phones, Vivo X6 and X6 Plus are presently still available in the market and look incredibly similar to the sucessors in terms of design and appearance. There isn’t much question about this left when Vivo’s official images of these phones are the same as the predecessors. Guess Vivo is taking after Apple’s strategy in reviving the series of their “S” iPhone models through the appearances of the set model.
It looks like most of the changes are done under the skin which is more relevant to the advantage of the users. A proof of this is the obvious upgrade in the processor which is the new Snapdragon 652 processor over the old MediaTek MT6752 in the previous phones. Vivo demonstrated their attention on delivering sharper audio delivery and music by loading in Yamaha YSS-205X signal processor in the XS6 smartphones. The XS6 comes with greater audio capabilities with AKM4375 DAC while the larger X6S Plus has a ES9028 DAC instead.
Other major specifications include a 5.2-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display for the XS6 and a 5.7-inch Full HD for the XS6 Plus version. The octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC is bundled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage without expansion. The phone features a a 16MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus and an 8MP front-facing shooter on the Plus and the XS6 showcases a 13MP unit. There is not so much to shout about in terms of the battery which is a mere 2,400mAh and 3,000mAh on the XS6 Plus.
The phone includes connectivity options such 4G radios, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, MicroUSB 2.0 port, FM Radio and a rear fingerprint reader. The handset runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
The Vivo X6S comes with a price tag of 2,598 Chinese yuan (about RM1,560), while the bigger model, X6S Plus is slightly higher at 2,998 yuan (approximately RM1,790). These smartphones will ship in China on the 5th of April 2016.
