Xiaomi Incorporated also known as Xiaomi Tech is famous for the reasonable price products ranging from phones comprising smart phones and mobile phones to smart home devices. Their products are also comes with high specifications and detail performances which makes the products from Xiaomi comparable to others products created by top company in the gadget markets. Xiaomi is also a competitive company in the market as the company embark in producing a tablet computer namely Xiaomi Mi Pad in the market game.

Although, there are plenty and variety of Android tablets in terms of price and performances, the Mi Pad has been acclaimed to bring something new with high-end features and one of the kind that differentiate it with others competitor. Xiaomi known for their flash sales didn’t include Mi Pad into the category which makes their customers less frustrated as the Mi Pad is available for the outright purchases.



Mi Pad has the same size and dimensions as the Apple’s iPad Mini using magnesium alloy acclaimed by Xiaomi but on the first inspection it appear to offer their customers with glossy plastic frames. The battery is sealed into the body frame which can’t be removed with a microSD card slot on the left side and two buttons including power and volume on the right side. On the bottom of the tablet there is a Micro USB port while on the top the table provide 3.55mm headset socket.

The reflective Mi Logo can be seen in the upper corner of the tablet with a camera cut out in the centre and a blank front face screen which can be activated by the capacitive touch buttons. Apart from that, the tablet also provide a camera  and microphone in the upper left corner with two speakers grilles at the bottom on the back of the tablet.


Software and Specifications

The tablet is supported by Nvidia’s Tegra K1 SoC offering superior 32-bit graphics performance, quad cores running at 2.2GHz and a fifth low power core primarily reserved as power sourced when the main cores is not in used by the customers. The Tegra K1 also supported game engines with its 192 graphic execution units which make the Tegra K1 as one of the bare basic entry level graphic cards.

There is a 2GB of RAM can be found alongside the Tegra K1 and 16GB of storage which can be extended to 128GB using the MicroSD card. The Mi Pad is built with Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac for their customers to stay connected. Most of the Android tablet has 16:10 and 16:9 screen but the Mi Pad offer 4:3 LCD screen measuring at 7.9 inches diagonally with a resolution of 1536×2048 offering clear and sharp video watching performance.

At the back of the tablet, there is 8MP camera while on the front of the tablet a 5MP camera which both can record up to 1080p video. The Mi Pad provides 6,700mAh battery that can lasted up to 13 hours for the convenient of the customers. The software for the Mi Pad is Android 4.4.4 with MIUI 6 running on top of it that provide separated sections for application icons and widgets.



The Mi Pad is suitable for gaming including 3D games at a very impressive speed of 42fps. Nevertheless, the tablet tends to get hot at some point and that make it hard and uncomfortable to handle when playing games. There are also two modes including Performance mode and Balance mode for the customers to choose in any situations.
