Xiaomi Mi5 leaked


There have been reports of the much anticipated Mi5 images that are surfacing on popular Chinese social media Weibo recently. The phone is expected to be launched by Xiaomi at the end of 2015 as a response to Apple’s Iphone 6. This phone is expected to be the new budget flagship Xiaomi phone. From a glance, the newly leaked image does indeed looks similar with previous laked photo reports, verifying the validity of previously leaked photos


The new reports suggested that the new Xiaomi Mi5 flagship phone will have a 5.2 or 5.5 inches IPS capacitive touch screen with 2560 x 1440 pixels display 565 PPI display. The display is Quad HD and the density seems amazing and is higher than current Iphone 6 Retina display. The anticipated Mi5 will be powered by Snapdragon 810 which is 64 bits, LTE compatible with a single Quad core 1.5 Ghz Cortex A53 and a Quad core 2Ghz Cortex A57 processor. The phone will be using Adreno 430 GPU graphic processor. It has a 4GB RAM while comes with choices of 16 , 32 or 64 GB on phone storage. However the phone storage is still not expandable. The new Mi5 will most probably run on the latest MIUI 6 which is the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system.


The Mi5 will probably be running on 3000 mAh battery with 16MP rear camera and a 8MP selfie camera. The camera are reported to have IS (Image Stabilization) capability to prevent blur from shaky hands.

Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun has also confirmed that the company have developed 5 prototypes of Mi5 that are being tested. Research and development of the new phone typically takes around 18 months.The new phone will also comes with all the standard features that Mi4 has such as quick charging, sensors and many more.


Xiaomi Mi5 Plus ?

There have also been reports suggesting that Xiaomi may release a second larger version of Mi5 touted the Mi5 plus which is eerily similar with Apple’s positioning of Iphone 6 phones. The Mi5 plus will be a good option when you need a higher power device with larger screen as compared with Redmi Note. The Mi5 plus phone will have a 6 inches screen while the hardware specifications would probably be the same with Mi5.
